The Sand Therapy Training Institute

In-studio small groups are kept at 3 to 6 participants to allow time to share and explore meaning represented in sand scenes, and quiet time to reflect, journal, and validate.

Clinician immersion, retreats, and family/ friend ceremonies are not therapy.

Small groups may consist of:

• New and seasoned therapists from different practices who know each other and wish to explore ways to process symbols and therapeutic stories
• A clinical staff seeking training for ways to understand and respond to clients’ sand scenes
• Interns just learning the foundation of symbol work
• Small focus groups who wish to represent social-cultural experiences, a collective, validating
  experience
• Families and friends gather for a private self-care retreat, or to celebrate an event, a ceremony
  to honor someone they lost, a life transition

The process always focuses on the goals of the group.
