This course was offered on March 13, 2024. It was a three-hour course that offered the opportunity for some attendees to earn ethics CEUs.
The session focused on the therapist’s scope of practice for expressive therapies. Dr. Dee examined ethical considerations for expressive therapies. Examples were given for challenges and positive aspects of being inventive when using symbols, metaphors, poetics, active imagination, projective techniques, and sand therapies. Special attention was given regarding caution with invention, interpretation, concretization, reification, and appropriation regarding cultural representations.
