Your Introduction to Narrative Sand Therapy© Awaits

|

Our 15-hour interactive course offers an introduction to Narrative Sand Therapy©, a deeply transformational approach to sand therapy suitable for clients of all ages. It utilizes the imaginative activation of symbols to provide clients with a safe, contained space to explore and process trauma and their own inner experience and perspective.

We start on March 27, 2024, and meet five times — March 27, April 10, April 24, May 8, and, May 22, 2024.

Narrative Sand Therapy is not a “recipe” or “objective directive” for fixing problems. It is an emergent, immersive process that facilitates and promotes sustainable self-healing as opposed to dependence on the therapist or other forms of external support.

It is an approach to explore deep wounds that distort identity, attachment, and connection, limit freedom, reduce options for life’s purpose, and misappropriate meaning. Symbol process is a careful exploration of developmental, cultural, and familial trauma to facilitate inner healing, as well as consider possible paths to navigate present and future challenges.

As an introductory course, this training provides a balance of didactic instruction to present the theoretical foundation and lens for facilitating Narrative Sand Therapy. Each of the five workshops offers practical and interactive demonstrations to provide a foundational understanding for implementation in work with clients.

While mastery of this highly complex approach requires years of immersive training and practice, participants should anticipate obtaining a foundation that will allow them to begin utilizing many of these powerful tools to enhance and deepen their work with clients upon completion of the course.
